Emma’s Review of Marley Spoon

  • Em’s rating for Marley Spoon: 4/5
  • Em’s overall experience: This is the first time I’ve used a delivery service and I was impressed. Delivery was seamless, there are quite a few delivery times to choose from and ‘authority to leave’ concept means you don’t even have to be home. For me, I’m willing to pay for convenience but this service also offers more than that when it comes to value when you consider the produce and recipes ($20 to feed 2 people a large, healthy meal is so reasonable).
  • Em’s thoughts on the recipes, ingredients and nutrition: The Marley Spoon recipes were super easy to follow and make. They would suit even the most amateur of cooks! The recipe cards give really clear instructions and the food is packaged neatly making it easy to see what’s what. Each recipe took 30-50 minutes to prepare and make. What I do like about Marley Spoon is their focus on portion control and avoiding food waste which is something I’m also passionate about. The serving sizes are still very generous and my partner and I aren’t huge eaters at dinner time so we actually had a little leftover at each meal. I’d rate the quality of our ingredients as medium quality. My main critique would be that the produce isn’t organic so I do question the nutritional profile. However, the beef was grass-fed and the meals seem to nicely balance the macros (Carbs/Proteins/Fats).
  • Who Em would recommend it to: Anyone who is time-poor and finds that their diet suffers due to this. The meals are really diverse so you might find yourself eating a wider variety of foods than you ordinarily would which is the best way to get all your essential nutrients!

  1. This sounds great and actually affordable. Thanks for sharing. The ones I’ve looked into in the past are like $1200 for a week or something! I don’t eat mostly organic anyway. But I guess it’s a good reminder to wash veggies etc. I know that doesn’t help with the nutritional make-up of the meal, but still :).

    1. I’m the same Jess! I’ve done Eat Fit Food, which I love but is very exy. And then Lite ‘n’ Easy which is cheap but you can only eat frozen food for so long, right?! This sounds like the perfect balance for your health, tastebuds and wallet!

  2. Yum, these dinners look great Emma. Thank you for the discount code too casa de karma team, I may have to give it a try, but will try win the competition first 😉
