For the last 3 months here at CDK HQ, we’ve been following, scrolling and double-tapping on many of the best yoga Instagram accounts. Now we’re ready to bring you our 15 favourite yoga Instagram accounts to follow in 2015. In no particular order:
Miranda is a believer and practicer of living in the moment. Her Instagram feed contains a wide variety of yoga inspiration whether it be: AcroYoga, partner yoga, or yoga on the beach, in the forest, on the mat or yoga in a random city location. She shows strength, stamina, peace and gratitude. And that makes her inspiring!
Tamara is the creator of ‘Yogance’ which you get a glimpse of in her feed. It’s fun, contemporary, soulful and very flexi. If you think the videos are too fast, just search ‘yogance’ on YouTube, where you can see them without having been sped up. A gorgeous account to inspire those who like to have fun with their practice and be in touch with their body and confidence, physically and mentally.
Having attracted a massive 740k followers, down to earth yoga instructor Kerri Verna, takes to Instagram to share a mix of still photos and videos doing yoga poses usually on the beach or at home. She often hosts competitions and challenges, having fun with her fans, making her a little special amongst the rest.
Patrick is a yoga teacher and handstand enthusiast. Patrick’s feed is of him doing all sorts of poses that require some serious upper body strength. There’s also a hint of his lovely girlfriend and fellow yoga teacher (and their cat!). The duo teach yoga and host yoga retreats across the globe. If you are inspired by or aspiring to do handstands, like cats, travel and partner yoga – Patrick’s feed is the feed for you.
With an open heart, smile on her dial and strength in her limbs (and mind); yoga teacher, author, Youtuber, inspirational speaker, Kino MacGregor will inspire you through a mix of videos and photo posts. Her poses on the beach and on the mat are lovely, but we most love the posts where she’s doing yoga poses in unlikely places, like on the side of the road in Bangkok or on the zebra crossing in the centre of the city!
Another fan of Acro Yoga, Dylan is the king of handstands and balancing upside down. He displays incredible upper body strength flexibility, strength and stamina in the body and the mind. If you want to get this strength and flexibility, Dylan and Kino (above) have a 90 day program that you can get via codyapp where they teach you, to give you the strength and flexibility to get into some of these more difficult poses – we’re pretty keen to give this a go! Have you done one of their programs via codyapp? We’d love to know what you thought of it, via the comments below!
Queen of inversions, yoga teacher and workshop host Ashley Galvin, really shows whose boss when it comes to #yogainspiration. She posts a bunch of pictures of herself doing wonderful inversions in scenic locations and couples these with some beautiful words to fill your soul with gratitude and your heart with compassion. Dylan (above) and Ashley are partners on the yoga mat and off the mat, and on the odd occasion, they’ll post the cutest and best of Acro Yoga and parter yoga poses together. Love.
If you aren’t already familiar with the beautiful Rachel Brathen, here’s your chance to get up to speed. Since trading in Stockholm city life for Sun Salutations in Central America the Swedish 26 year old has gained a global following and amassed 1.3million followers on Instagram. She teaches workshops and retreats that include SUP yoga. She’s also recently got zillions of girls and guys super excited with the release of her first book, filled with with step-by-step yoga sequences and simple recipes for a healthy, happy, and fearless lifestyle. Have you got the book? What do you love most about it? Let us know in the comments below!
Laura is a real favourite amongst the yoga community on Instagram (oh hey, just 1 million followers!), and her pics of her and her mini-me doing yoga together are just too beautiful for words. She’s got the credentials too – Laura is a qualified yoga teacher, SUP yoga instructor and now Acrovinyasana teacher. In a nutshell, she’s one talented lady who is having fun connecting with her family through yoga.
Whilst Eddie is hubby to the lovely @laurasykora, he’s definitely awesome in his own right. The doting dad and hubby just became a certified Acrovinyasana teacher. And whilst he’s super at it, and his feed is filled with cool acro yoga poses, we love most that he’s main reason to do it is to support his wife and and share the bonding experience together – #husbandoftheyear. Mr & Mrs Sykora are teaching Acrovinyasana classes, workshops and retreats at locations across the U.S.
Honza & Claudine Lafond believe the ultimate goal in life is to follow your bliss and inspire others to do the same read our full interview with the duo here. They are the founders of the progressive yoga system, Acrovinyasana, and whilst they have a yoga school in Sydney, they also travel the world teaching workshops and hosting yoga teacher training. With 246k followers, they’re kind of a big deal! Follow their feed and you’re destined to be inspired to practice your inversions more often!
Charlotte is an Australian SUP yoga Master Trainer & International Ambassador. She also hosts what look like ah-mazing SUP yoga retreats and yoga safaris in Australia and the Cook Islands (we want to get to one of these retreats stat!). If you’re a yogi + beach goddess + sun worshipper and often find yourself dreaming of an island getaway, Charlotte’s feed will tick all your boxes. She’s a beautiful Yermaid (yogi-cross-mermaid)!
21 year old Jessica was born in South Africa, now living in Dubai and is all about active living. The self-taught, now certified yoga teacher has acquired some 66k followers. She teaches private lessons in Dubai and has recently launched an app and e-book. She rocks, just see for yourself.
Duncan Peak is a yogi, surfer, philosopher, speaker & Head Honcho at Power Living. We stumbled across his account after the Wanderlust Festival coverage for the recent Sydney event and have enjoyed his posts since. His yoga photos are coupled with warm and wise words, and what we love most is that he always looks to be having fun and appreciating what life has to offer. And a reminder to appreciate and enjoy life never hurt anyone!
Ok, so the former Australian pole vaulter, elite athletics coach and exercise physiologist, kind of had a pretty big head start with all the strength and flexibility to be gained when training to represent the country. But we won’t hold that against her. She has a massive 281k Instagram followers and there’s no surprise as to why. She’s got the most positive, radiating vibes, beautiful encouraging and kind words, and inspiring yoga sequences and poses to make you want to jump out of bed kick goals and live your dreams. Amanda has youtube videos, e-guides and now retreats, to keep you covered with all the tools for an excellent yoga-led lifestyle. Have you followed her guides or been to her classes?
